Security flaw in Windows that has existed for more than 20 years

The American company Vectra Networks, Inc. discovered a security flaw in the way that Windows installs the drivers for the printers connected to the computer.

The flaw is in the system that manages the printers in Windows, present in the platform for more than 20 years.

It does not check the signature of a driver efficiently, making it possible for any hacker to use the process to install malicious software along with the automatic detection process of a printer, without requiring user permissions.
With this, an entire local network could be invaded and exploited.
